So Beautiful

Filed under: Television — buttacupp @ 6:14 pm and

Lately I could not help but get a tad bit sentimental (maybe cos it’s Ramadhan and Eid is just around the corner) when I see an old couple walking in a park holding hands, or pictures of Pak Lah and the late Datin Sri Endon being affectionate, or just watching scenes from a video clip i.e. Shania Twain’s Always and Forever song, or a movie The Mirror Has Two Faces starring Barbara Streisand, Cheaper by the Dozen, and Father of the Bride.

It is really a wondersul sight to see happy old couples. In this day and age where you hear a whole lot about wars, divorces, tragedy and sadism, these things give you a bit of hope, that the world isn’t all lost (the glass is half full for me even if life is throwing so many things at me at the moment).

I could only wish to be as fortunate as those people I mentioned above. To be separated only by death, but loved for eternity (here goes the wishful thinking)…

Bernanke steps up to the plate

Filed under: Current Affairs — buttacupp @ 7:03 pm and

Well, too late for those who harbored hopes of replacing Great ol’ Greenspan since Mr If-you’re-not-with-us-you’re-against-us announced Ben Bernanke as the enxt Federal Reserve Chairman.

Mr Bernanke is a monetary economist by training, a former Fed governor and currently Mr Bush’s Council of Economic Advisers (raised eyebrows).

If Mr Bush’s appointment is approved by the Senate, then Bernanke will definitely have some shoes to fill in. Alan Greenspan is a household name and an esteemed Chairman. So far, his policies though at times controversial (cos it wasn’t text book stuff) and risky, kinda did the American economy some good. Will Bernanke be bold or conservative?

I say let’s see what he’s got under his sleeve before we judge him.

To the the dismayed hopefuls, keep playing the e-game. Who knows? One day you may be called…

The Sound of a Shattered Heart

Giving everything you’ve got doesn’t necessarily guarantee you’ll get everything you’ve hoped for. No expectations and praying for other’s happiness is the way to go…even if you bleed like hell.

I tried.

I gave my very best.

*heavy sigh*

Searching for the Next Alan Greenspan

Filed under: Current Affairs — buttacupp @ 6:53 pm and

If you find yourselves visiting the US anytime soon, particularly if you are in Washington D.C., then drop by to the Federal Reserve building. Try out this ultra-cool electronic game on haha interest rates.

The game requires you to decide on how to respond to inflation and stock market crash. If you answer all the questions correctly, the game declares you as the next Federal Reserve Chairman!

Cool!

So those of you who think you have what it takes to replace Alan Greenspan, what are you waiting for? LOL
